It was a night to forget for Brighton fans as they watched Albion fall to defeat against title-chasing Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring just after the half hour mark with a penalty awarded for Tariq Lamptey’s foul on Gabriel Jesus.

Albion struggled to deal with Arsenal’s press for large portions of the game.

Julio Enciso tested David Raya just before half time with a long range effort which was well-saved by the Spaniard. It was Brighton’s first shot on the target.

Bart Verbruggen also made a spectacular save in the first half to keep it 1-0.

Arsenal were too much to handle for the hosts and doubled their lead through Kai Havertz who got on the end of a cut back from Jorginho just after the hour mark.

Former Albion winger Leandro Trossard added insult to injury when he was played clean through and dinked the ball over Verbruggen 86 minutes in to make it 3-0.

The defeat sees De Zerbi’s side drop to tenth in the table, while Arsenal are now top of the league with 71 points and a point above Liverpool and Manchester City.

Albion travel to Burnley this Saturday.
