Pascal Gross is ready to fire himself up for action again – after being identified as one of four current pillars of the Albion team.
The Germany midfielder leads the Seagulls in terms of Premier League playing time with 2,484 minutes.
He is followed by Lewis Dunk (2,377) and Jan Paul van Hecke (2,188).
Danny Welbeck is some way down the list due to an injury-enforced absence earlier in the season but has led the attack while Joao Pedro has been injured and Evan Ferguson below best form.
Albion go to Burnley tomorrow a week on from their home defeat by Arsenal and Gross told brighonandhovealbion.com: “We’ve had a full week of training that we haven’t had too many of recently because of games and that will help us to recover some players and energy, and to prepare really well.”
Gross has appeared in every match in all competitions since September and has played the full 90 in 22 of the last 23 fixtures, including FA Cup ties.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “I think this Brighton can’t play without Pascal Gross in terms of personality, knowledge, attitude, behaviour.
“Without Lewis Dunk as well, without Danny Welbeck as well.
“JP van Hecke in this moment is another crucial player.”
