Roberto De Zerbi said a point was a fair result for Albion at Burnley.

A gift own goal saw the Seagulls escape with a 1-1 draw from their tussle at Turf Moor.

Head coach De Zerbi said: “We didn’t deserve to win the game and we didn’t deserve to lose the game.

“We suffered especially in the first 20 minutes but after that I think we played a good game.

“Not a great game but we are not in the right condition to play get games at the moment.

“We are suffering, we are having a tough moment, a tough period, but anyway we have to fight how we did - with pride, with qualities.”

Asked why his side started slowly, De Zerbi said: “I have not too many answers.

“We are too many points from the high positions to reach a European target.

“It can happen but I would like to know why we started the game like that.”
