Albion were handed a lifeline as they drew 1-1 at Burnley.

As a collective, they were arguably the better side for much of the game but lacked the individual spark to make it count.

Bart Verbruggen 7/10

Was left in a very tough position by Baleba on the goal and the question we can ask at our leisure is whether he could have made a split-second adjustment to clear the ball sideways or even handled it and taken the consequences. Had a solid game.

Joel Veltman 5.5/10

Not his best afternoon. Burnley got into dangerous areas out wide at times and he was reprieved when he let Larsen go as the home player missed a sitter.

Jan Paul van Hecke 6/10

A generally decent performance punctuated by moments when Burnley caused problems. No real chance to create on the ball.

Lewis Dunk 6/10

As per van Hecke, generally solid but with moments when Burnley should really have scored.

Pervis Estupinan N/A

Possibly lucky to get away with an awkward challenge in the box before an ankle injury ended his match early.

Pascal Gross 7/10

A refreshed performance from the playmaker and he was involved in most of the moments when it seemed Albion might score without the opposition's help.

Carlos Baleba 6.5/10

A generally good performance, and one showing a bit more attacking intent than previously, spoiled by that under-hit prod when he seemed to have done the hard bit.

Simon Adingra 6/10

Some moments of danger in the first half but the threat faded and he was surprisingly overhauled by Esteve when it looked like Moder had put him through on goal.

Jakub Moder 7/10

One of the brighter performers. Helped link things up in the final third with an eye for a pass and produced a fine save from Muric with a free-kick. Was fortunate to see Fofana head wide when he lost him at the far post.

Joao Pedro 6.5/10

Was certainly very lively playing mainly on the left but nothing really came off for him. Needs must, of course, but he is probably at his best in a more central, No.10-type role.

Danny Welbeck 6/10

Forced the free-kick from which Moder tested Muric but this was a quiet game as he was well patrolled.

Subs - Igor 7/10

His characteristics did not really fit the team shape but he is a dependable contributor and did well here.

Ansu Fati, Facundo Buonanotte, Adam Lallana N/A

Sent on as a triple change at 1-0 and were involved in rather hectic late efforts to grab a winner.

Mark O’Mahony N/A

A nice lay-off and a yellow card when tracking back on his brief Prem debut.
