Jakub Moder is enjoying the challenge of a new midfield role for Albion.

But he agrees there was nothing to smile about after the 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Moder was one of the brighter performers at Turf Moor as he looked to get forward and create chances.

He told The Argus: “I just try to play as a ten, like the gaffer wanted me to play.

“Create chances, make runs behind, score a goal, get an assist.

“The reality is we only get one point and it was not enough.

“I played the last three or four games, I can play there “The message from the gaffer is clear for me.

“I can go deep, I can make runs behind. I feel good in this position so it is okay.”

Albion played a longer game than usual in the second half at Burnley with space in behind the home defence and a strong wind holding the ball up.

Moder said: “We tried to stretch them. I tried to go deeper to bring the centre-half with me and create more space for Welbz (Danny Welbeck) and Joao (Pedro) and Simon (Adingra).

“We tried to play a little bit longer.

“That was the plan for build-up but we just showed not enough quality.”

Albion are winless in four matches after the Turf Moor draw.

Moder said: “I think everyone is disappointed. We are all very disappointed in the changing room.

“We have to do better against teams like Burnley.

“We have to show more quality, more with the ball, create more chances, and this is the only way to be in this kind of games.”
