Marc Leonard has been hailed as a manager’s dream as he nears the end of his time on loan to Northampton Town.

The Albion midfielder has had two seasons with the Cobblers, helping them to promotion from League Two last term.

They are in mid-table ahead of the team’s final home game of this season, versus Exeter City.

Northampton boss Jon Brady wants to see fans give Leonard and fellow loanee Kieron Bowie, from Fulham, a great send-off.

Leonard will attract Championship interest as he looks to take his next step.

Brady said: “It would be great to see fans come down and see Marc Leonard and Kieron Bowie play at home probably for one last time because they are two high quality players.

"They will go back to their respective clubs in the summer but they have both been brilliant for us during the two years.”

Brady said Leonard has made his mark on recent Northampton history.

He added: “In my time here and from knowing the Cobblers over the years, I’d say he has probably been one of the best players to ever wear a Cobblers shirt.

"What they have added to us with their ability and their attitude, they have been a manager’s dream.

“They’ve played 80, 90 games each over the two seasons and helped us get promotion, it’s absolutely fantastic.

“Every challenge you set them, they surpass it.

“Their commitment to the club, to the cause and to us and to represent themselves in the way they do has been exceptional.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with them.”

Leonard’s improved tally of five goals and six assists includes a stunning late strike in the 4-1 defeat at Portsmouth.

The newly-crowned League One champions are thought to be among the clubs interested is signing the Scotland under-21 international.
