Albion will make a key decision in attack this morning as they look to dent Chelsea’s push for European football.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi will decide whether Danny Welbeck is ready to break new ground this season.
The Seagulls also have Joao Pedro back from a brief injury-enforced absence as they take on Mauricio Pochettino’s in-form side.
Welbeck got through a gruelling 90 minutes at Newcastle on Saturday and impressed.
He has not made successive weekend-midweek starts this season but is looking in great shape and could change that tonight.
De Zerbi said: “We have to analyse in the morning at training but he is available to play.
“I don’t know 90, 70, 45 minutes but he feels good.”
Joao Pedro missed out at Newcastle due to a knock picked up in training on Friday morning, although the fact he travelled to the North East suggested he was not far from being available for that game.
De Zerbi confirmed his availability for Chelsea’s visit when he spoke to the media yesterday.
Joel Veltman is ruled out with the muscular issue he suffered at St James’ Park but could return to face Manchester United on Sunday.
Valentin Barco is available this evening but Jan Paul van Hecke’s season is over.
Victory over Chelsea would all but secure a top-ten place and De Zerbi knows how much Albion fans would love the win.
He said: “We would like to win every game.
“We know the importance of the Crystal Palace match but we want to win every game.
“The ambition and motivation is always the same.
“The last two games we have been better with enthusiasm and confidence.”
