Albion are without skipper Nicky Forster for tonight's Carling Cup clash against Manchester City at Withdean.
The veteran striker and five-goal top scorer is ruled out by the thigh injury which has troubled him for the last two games.
Manager Micky Adams makes three changes to the team humbled at home by nine-man Walsall on Saturday.
David Livermore, Doug Loft and Tommy Fraser come in for Forster, Dean Cox and Gary Hart.
There are also places on the bench for rookies Kane Wills and Steve Cook.
Although City chief Mark Hughes makes six changes and there is no Robinho, he is still fielding a very strong line-up, spearheaded by Jo.
Albion (possible formation): Kuipers; Whing, Elphick, El-Abd, Richards; Fraser, Virgo, Thomson, Livermore, Loft; Murray. Subs: Cox, Sullivan, G. Hart, Robinson, Anyinsah, Wills, Cook.
Manchester City: Schmeichel; Zabaleta, Ben-Haim, Dunne, Ball; Kompany, Johnson, Fernandes, Ireland; Jo, Sturridge. Subs: J. Hart, Elano, Garrido, Caicedo, Hamann, Evans, Logan.
