Three Bridges’ Marlon Maxwell and Dean Wright both grabbed hat-tricks as the RUR Cup holders thumped division two Wealden 11-0 in the biggest score of the day on Saturday.

Wealden trailed 4-0 at the break but went down to a second-half onslaught with Carl Dunk, Dean Carden, Nathan Davis, Nigel Ikolodo and Stuart O’Hara also on target in the second round tie.

Ringmer could not match Three Bridges’ goalscoring feats in the league but still managed an emphatic 4-1 victory over Oakwood to go back to the top of County League division one.

Sam Soutar (two), Aaron Macmillan and Joe Dryer got the hosts’ goals and boss Bob Munnery said: “We played very well against Horsham in the Senior Cup and told the players we wanted to replicate that and they did.

“We played fast, aggressive football and we’re pleased to be back on top with a big test against Pagham to come.”

Both sides ended up with ten men with Ringmer losing Dave Alterndorff for two bookings and Oaks also having a player dismissed for two yellows.

Arundel are in sixth spot with games in hand on all the sides ahead of them after they sunk East Grinstead 6-0 with Mike Huckett (two), Gary Norgate (two), Josh Biggs and James Crane on target.

Assistant manager Simon Butler said: “Since we drew with East Preston we have gone on a good run. That’s seven unbeaten and six wins.”

Grinstead had Dave Gellatly dismissed for violent conduct.

Shoreham are pushing up the table and co-manager Mark Burt was happy with the way they ground out a 2-1 win over St Francis Rangers thanks to goals by Dan Taylor and Darren Annis, who scored the winner from a Taylor free-kick.

Jamie Buckett missed a good chance for Hassocks to grab all three points in their goalless draw at Selsey. Selsey had a player sent off for two bookable offences late in the game.

Wick’s Ryan Hudson, Colin Moss, Miles Scerri, Phil Turner and Julian Curnow netted in a 5-0 win over Hailsham.
