Midfielder Al Bangura has given himself a chance of defying injury and keeping his Albion place.

But Seagulls boss Russell Slade has revealed he could be about to shake things up tactically as his 22nd-placed side aim to upset sixth-placed Scunthorpe.

Bangura was caught by what assistant boss Dean White described as a potentially career-ending challenge from Jabo Ibehre in Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at Walsall.

He missed training on Wednesday and Thursday with a damaged shin but could yet feature at Glanford Park as Albion look to give Slade a second win in charge and edge towards safety.

Slade revealed last night: “He has got a chance. He trained today (Friday) for the first time since the Walsall game.

“The physio is working on him. Hopefully he will be ready but it will be a late decision. We will try him out in the morning.”

Glenn Murray has not made the trip as he recovers from hernia surgery but, like goalkeeper Michel Kuipers, is being lined up for reserve action next week.

The second string meet Millwall at Bognor on Monday and QPR at Lewes on Wednesday.

Kuipers, recovering from a hamstring problem, is in Scunthorpe to provide cover for on-loan Mikkel Andersen.

The Dutchman is not yet 100% fit but travelled after John Sullivan suffered a cut in the sole of his foot.

Slade is giving little away about his line-up although Tommy Elphick and Gary Borrowdale could start in defence and Adam Virgo is available after a five-game ban, possibly to bolster midfield.

The Albion boss said: “We’ve worked on a couple of things. We are looking at our options.”

Slade’s Yeovil side started with Paul Warne as a lone frontman when they lost 2-0 at Scunthorpe early in the season.

Yeovil went 4-4-2 after the break but still lost 2-0 and, at the time, Slade admitted Scunthorpe looked the best side in the division.
