Albion have pulled off a major coup by signing highly rated Arsenal defender Gavin Hoyte on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old right-back or centre half, who has first team experience with the Gunners, goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Yeovil.

Hoyte, younger brother of Middlesbrough's ex-Arsenal defender Justin, played in the Premier League at Manchester City last season and made three starts in the Carling Cup.

He also captained the reserves and had a spell on loan in the Championship with Watford.

Hoyte, with Arsenal since the age of nine, has represented England from under 16 through to under 20 level.

Albion have signed him as cover for regular right-back Andrew Whing, who faces another three weeks on the sidelines following hernia surgery.
