Skipper Adam Quinn admits Crawley have to improve their dismal away form if they are to join the play-off race.
The ten-point gap between Reds and Luton, the side currently in the last play-off place, might seem insurmountable and Quinn and his side hardly gave the impression that they could make up the gap when they lost 2-0 to Mansfield on Saturday.
But Reds have eight games and 24 points to play for between now and the end of December as their season enters a critical phase.
Four of those games are on the road, starting with tomorrow’s trip to in-form Hayes and Yeading who have won their last three matches including an eye-catching 2-0 success at Wrexham last Saturday.
Quinn said: “The away form is something we have to sort out and fast.
“We have only won once away this season and that was so long ago (Cambridge, August 18) I can hardly remember it.
“We need to address that because the squad is definitely strong enough to challenge for the play-offs. People might say we have over-achieved if we do that but I don’t think so.
“We can’t wait another three months to win another away game and hopefully we can address it on Saturday.”
