Simon Grayson felt his Leeds side passed their toughest test of the season in style at Withdean.

The leaders were impressve in winning 3-0 to spoil Gus Poyet's first home league game as Seagulls manager.

Leeds boss Grayson said: "I felt we were very good. People talk about the Bristol Rovers performance a couple of weeks ago and winning 4-0 but today was better than that.

"We were fully in control of the game, played with a real high tempo, passed the ball around with a lot of quality, defended well when we needed to and all-round it was a really professional performance. I'm delighted.

"We spoke to the players before the game and said this would be the hadest game of the season with Gus coming in and two wins to start with.

"But the players have certainly got something about them now and the result is testament to that."

Leeds offered Albion no time on the ball, even in their own half of the pitch.

Grayson added: "We pressed as a team and individually and created a lot of chances.

"We could have been four or five up at half-time and we looked really solid when Brighton had possession of the ball and tried to cause us some problems."
