GAVIN Hoyte is in contention to freshen up Albion's defence at Norwich tomorrow night.

The Arsenal right-back has completed a three-match ban and is available for the trip to Carrow Road after extending his loan until January 2.

Andrew Whing was substituted during the second half of Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat by Leeds and manager Gus Poyet said: “He (Hoyte) is an option.

“At the moment we have only Andrew Whing as a right-back. He has been out for a while and has then had to play three games in a week. I know that was very difficult for him."

Michel Kuipers is still likely to be missing at Norwich with a groin injury, while Liam Dickinson was sidelined from the squad against Leeds by a thigh knock. Poyet said: “I am not the kind who, because we have lost one game, will make four changes.

“It is very easy to remember the victories and it is difficult sometimes to accept when you lose but that’s football, even the top teams lose sometimes.

“There’s no panic, we’ll keep improving. I cannot ask for more, the players have been spot on.”
