Albion have announced a 3% rise in season ticket prices for their final year at Withdean before the move to Falmer.

Adult fans will pay between £373 and £562 to watch Gus Poyet’s Seagulls in League One next season, the first price increase for more than five years.

A letter from the club to season ticket holders states: “Over the past five seasons, despite the unremitting rise in internal costs, we have not increased the cost of season tickets and have considerably reduced the cost of junior tickets.

“However, we are no longer able to contain these costs and we are increasing prices by 3% which represents an amount less than the current Retail Price Index.”

The lowest adult price is £373 for the East Stand, provided payment is made in full by June 11. That equates to just over £16 per match.

Seniors can buy a ticket for £218 (under £10 per game), under 21s for £124 (just over £5 per match) under 16s for £64 and under ten's £16.

The top price of £562 is for the North Stand centre if payment is made after June 11.

Albion are repeating the five-month payment plan introduced last year to help fans spread the cost. Existing season ticket holders will be given priority for a seat at the £95 million Falmer Stadium.

Managing director Ken Brown said: “With Falmer on the horizon and season ticket holders having priority at the new stadium, we expect many new or returning supporters. With that in mind, I would advise existing season ticket holders to renew before 11th June."
