Trevor Geer wants Eastbourne to show the rest of the league how it is done by troubling Poole on their own shale tonight.
But even the Eagles team manager admits a first away win of the season will probably be beyond them.
Poole are racing away at the top of the Elite League and have not been troubled at their Wimborne Road home this season.
Eagles are unbeaten in their last four competitive trips to Dorset, dating back to the 2008 Knockout Cup final.
Pirates, though, have used the averages system wisely to piece together a formidable side this term.
They are massive favourites to go into the end-of-term play-offs as regular season table toppers.
Geer, whose side have not raced for 18 days, said: “Winning there might be pushing it a bit but it would be nice to go there and really push them.
“We want to make them struggle for their points at least. No one else has done that.”
