Eastbourne have made a new Polish signing after another frustrating night in the Elite League.

Belle Vue asset Tomasz Jedrzejak, 30, will make his debut in the televised home meeting against Peterborough a week on Monday in place of injured Dawid Lampart, with Simon Gustafsson and Lukas Dryml both dropping to reserve.

Eagles hope the loan deal will come as a timely boost after another away defeat last night.

There was plenty of spirit this time but a 49-41 reverse at Lakeside meant bottom-of-the-table Eagles narrowly missed out on a bonus point.

Matej Zagar produced an improved display but fell at the last in a tussle with Lee Richardson for the third place in heat 15 which would have given Eagles a point.

Lakeside asset Joonas Kylmakorpi had four heat wins to put Eastbourne in contention after they trailed 10-2.

Jason Doyle also did well as guest for Gustafsson, who has a World Under-21 Championship semi-final this weekend. Ricky Kling rode despite the after effects of a bad smash at Swindon the previous evening.

Lakeside: Shields 15+1 (6), Richardson 10+2 (5), Robson 9+3 (6), Hurry 8 (5), Nieminen 7+2 (5), D.Davidsson 0 (3), J.Davidsson r/r.

Eagles: Kylmakorpi 14 (6), Doyle 10 (5), Zagar 9 (6), Dryml 6+3 (5), Kling 1 (4), Schramm 1 (4) Woodward r/r.
