Crawley have made their first signing in the transfer window by agreeing an 18-month deal for Wrexham goalkeeper Scott Shearer.

The 29-year-old, who has extensive Football League experience with Coventry, Bristol Rovers and Wycombe, will join Reds on January 1.

Boss Steve Evans believes he will give regular No. 1 Michel Kuipers competition for his place but Shearer's arrival does put the future of Nick Jordan in doubt.

Jordan has made six starts this season and come off the bench twice when Kuipers was sent off but he was criticised for his poor performance in his last appearance against Dartford earlier this month during the 3-3 draw.
