Albion will pocket more than £500,000 if they knock Stoke City out of the FA Cup.

That is the bonanza on offer to the Seagulls for getting past the Premier League outfit in Saturday’s fifth round showdown at the Britannia Stadium.

They will earn £180,000 in prize money from the match for reaching the quarter-finals.

The pot will be swelled by another £247,500 in TV revenue for guaranteed live coverage in the next round.

Albion’s share of gate receipts from an expected 20,000 crowd will send the windfall from the Stoke match alone soaring over the £500,000 mark.

The Seagulls have already made well over £250,000 just in prize money and TV fees from their FA Cup exploits this season.

They picked up £18,000 against Woking in round one, £27,000 from FC United of Manchester in round two, £67,500 for beating Portsmouth at Withdean in the third round and £90,000 for the fourth round win at Watford.

They also collected more than £70,000 for live coverage by ESPN of the replays against Woking and FC United.

Chris Wood is expected to be fit to face Stoke after the striker on loan from West Brom limped out of last Saturday’s win against Hartlepool with an injured right foot.

Boss Gus Poyet said: “We are looking for him to train either today or tomorrow. It’s no more than bone bruising on top of the foot.”

Midfielder Matt Sparrow remains a doubt with a knee ligament injury. Poyet said: “He is training but still feeling a little bit of pain. We are taking it day by day with him.”
