Gus Poyet is convinced Albion’s passing style will be a success in the Championship.
The Albion boss will be in front of a television in Uruguay when Barcelona face Manchester United in the Champions League final.
Poyet admits it is fanciful to compare Barca’s beautiful game with what happens in the Championship.
But he is convinced taking care of possession, rather than relying in a more physical and direct game, is the key to continued progress.
Poyet, whose Albion team played the most attractive football in League One on their way to the title, said. “My style suits the Championship.
“It also suits any other league because we care about keeping the football.
“This game is football, not kickball. You need to keep the ball to play this sport.
“People saying anything else have never managed a team or done anything.”
