Albion manager Gus Poyet has warned of the fight he faces to keep hold of his top players, with much bigger wage packets on offer elsewhere.
The Seagulls are waiting on Cardiff's next move during the January transfer window after turning down the Welshmen's £400,000 bid for Craig Noone.
Lewis Dunk and Liam Bridcutt have also been linked with moves to Premier League clubs.
Poyet said: "The players get dragged from this football club because we cannot pay them (as much) and there are other clubs and agents in there trying to push the players to the place where they are going to earn the most. That is something that is going to keep happening until we change our structure."
