Albion are on the brink of signing Bolton Wanderers midfielder Keith Andrews on a year-long loan, according to a report in Lancashire.

The Bolton News says Andrews is linking up with the Seagulls after Wanderers completed the signing this week of Jay Spearing.

Andrews, 32, started last Saturday' opening 1-1 draw at Burnley but is no longer guaranteed regular first team football at the Reebok.

The Republic of Ireland international is reportedly one of Bolton's biggest earners after joining them on a free transfer last summer.

Former Wolves, Blackburn and West Brom midfielder Andrews played 26 games last term and scored four goals from the penalty spot but struggled with Achilles and thigh injuries.

He had surgery in the summer and rehab in Qatar before featuring heavily in Bolton's pre-season programme.

Albion head coach Oscar Garcia is in the market for another midfielder after capturing Kemy Agustien on a free transfer from Swansea.
