Albion have cooled their interest in signing Australian A-League midfielder Luke Brattan.
An Argus source has revealed the Brisbane Roar star will not be coming to England for further talks with the Seagulls as he is injured.
Chairman Tony Bloom has connections in Australia and tentative discussions took place.
But the injury to Hull-born Brattan has wrecked the possibility of a deal.
Albion have made one new signing so far ahead of tomorrow's opening pre-season friendly at Lewes.
They clinched the capture from Grasshopper Zurich of Congo-born midfielder Nzuzi Toko at the end of last season.
Bloom said: "I am extremely confident we will bring in the right players."
