Albion have brought back Jamie Murphy to face Brentford – but there is still no starting spot for Dale Stephens.
Murphy replaces Jiri Skalak on the left flank for the visit of the Bees to the Amex.
There is also a change in midfield where Steve Sidwell drops to the bench – but it is Ollie Norwood rather than Stephens who replaces him.
The Seagulls are forced into a switch they might have made anyway in attack as Tomer Hemed replaces the suspended Sam Baldock.
Kazenga LuaLua misses out on the 18 with a knee injury.
Connor Goldson returns to the matchday squad on a bench which also includes young defender Rob Hunt with recent signing Sebastien Pocognoli not yet involved.
Brentford make one change to the XI which kicked off their 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday going into the international break.
Lasse Vibe, who scored and was later sent off that day, is replaced by Josh Clarke. Sullay Kaikai, recently signed on loan from Crystal Palace, is on the bench.
