Albion's out-of-favour Romain Vincelot has joined injury-hit Gillingham on loan until January 1.

The versatile Frenchman could make his debut for the League Two leaders at AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.

Vincelot and midfielder Matt Sparrow were told by Albion boss Gus Poyet at the start of the season their futures lay elsewhere.

Gillingham chief Martin Allen said: "He is a goalscoring midfielder who has scored goals in this division and achieved a promotion and he is a good signing."

Vincelot, who will be 27 on Monday, made 14 starts and six substitute appearances for Albion last season following a £100,000 move from Dagenham and Redbridge.
