Crofts then span away from a tackle in midfield and made ground with the ball but his low drive was held by Speroni.
4:43pm
Shame this game hasn't been 11 v 11. Unequal contest from the moment Dunk departed. #bhafc

4:42pm
Albion produced a shot on target but Mackail-Smith's well-executed overhead bicycle kick flew straight to Speroni.
4:37pm
As Wilbraham was replacing Murray, Albion sent on Dicker for Buckley.
4:36pm
Having passed up that shot at a hat-trick, Murray seemed to be on for a treble when Palace got him closing in on goal. But this time Calderon got across to make a fine challenge. That was Murray's final action as he was substituted to a standing ovation from jubilant home fans,
4:32pm
Palace were awarded a second spot kick on 70 minutes when Murray tumbled with Greer in close proximity as a cross drifted away from them. GARVAN fired the penalty into the bottom corner.

4:27pm
Murray was close to his hat-trick in the 65th minute with Palace now in total control. He climbed above Calderon to head Bolasie's cross narrowly over.

Just added a few tweets being received by my colleague Andy Naylor regarding the penalty incident
4:23pm
@AndyNaylorArgus he was touched. But Murray instigated the touch. Classic simulation.

@AndyNaylorArgus not a dive but contact was made could have gone either way

@AndyNaylorArgus seen it Andy on the beamback, sad to say it was 100% a dive.

4:18pm
Albion's brief bright spell had fizzled out and emergency left-back Bridcutt was booked for chopping down Zaha near the corner flag. Kuszczak had to fist away the resulting free-kick under pressure.
4:15pm
Kuszczak claimed Murray had dived but was booked for his foul with home fans baying for a red card. MURRAY then beat him easily from the penalty spot.
4:15pm
They seemed to have men back to deal with a counter raid but the ball ran into the path of Murray, who looked to go around Kuszczak and went down under the challenge of the keeper.
4:13pm
It was a bright start to the half by Albion but they would be vulnerable to counter attacks.
4:11pm
The ten men came agonisingly close to levelling straight after half-time. Barnes produced some terrific work in his own half to take the ball off Zaha and slide a pass into the path of Mackail-Smith's well-timed run. The striker made ground into the area but, from slightly to the left of goal, slid his shot past Speroni and against the outside of the near post.

Half-time
3:48pm
Crofts came on as sub in the 45th minute as Orlandi went off, seemingly with a pain in the ribcage area
3:46pm
That was brief respite though. Zaha popped up in a central position to take Bolasie's pass and beat a man but his fierce on-target shot was superbly blocked by the sliding Bridcutt.
3:43pm
Albion almost came up with the perfect response. Bruno had a low cross cleared, then Bridcutt angled in a ball in looking for Barnes to get a glancing touch. Barnes made no contact but the ball continued goalwards and Speroni had to react quickly to dive to his right and push it away.
3:41pm
The resulting corner brought the breakthrough as the ball was delivered to the near post and MURRAY glanced home a header in the 38th minute.
3:39pm
Orlandi then went in the book for tripping Zaha in Albion's left-back area. Garvan whipped in a dangerous free-kick which Kuszczak had to tip behind.
3:36pm
Delaney was booked for a foul on Buckley as Albion looked to counter attack.
3:33pm
Palace had a sustained spell of pressure as Albion sat back in a line of four and a line of five.

3:31pm
The hosts were getting joy out wide and full-back Parr was next to threaten. Palace worked him in behind Bruno and his low cross was diverted goalwards by Dikgacoi but Kuszczak got down to hold.
3:30pm
Albion were looking to feed Buckley and Mackail-Smith on counters but could get nothing going in attack.
3:29pm
Bolasie then saw a curler deflect off Hammond for a corner and Kuszczak held the resulting corner.
3:28pm
Palace wingers have now switched, so Orlandi v Zaha. #bhafc

3:27pm
Most of the play was taking place in the Albion half but Kuszczak held another Bolasie effort. As expected, Zaha and Bolasie were causing plenty of problems.
3:21pm
Kuszczak dived to keep out a rasping Bolasie drive as Palace made the running.
3:17pm
Calderon moved across to central defence wth Orlandi dropping deep on the left.
3:11pm
Albion survived a first-minute corner but were facing an uphill battle in the seventh minute. Dunk, as last man, failed to control Bruno's simple pass and then brought down Bolasie as he latched on to the loose ball and bore down on goal. Dunk was shown the red card. Garvan then hit the woodwork with the free-kick.

Great draw for Hastings in Yorkshire in the early FA Cup kick-off. That means a replay at the Pilot Field and a place in the 3rd round draw tomorrow afternoon.

We can hear but not really see the crowd in our position tucked under the roof of the old main stand at Selhurst Park. Atmosphere is building.
2:43pm
That Albion team news raised an eyebrow or two. Line-ups are posted on this site.
2:42pm
This would be a decent looking fuxture even if there were 250 miles between the clubs rather than about 40. Second versus seventh, best home attack v meanest away defence, Glenn Murray in the form of his life coming up against his old club, the Will v Wilfried comparison, Palace with the chance to go top overnight, Albion looking to get back into the top six - and two unbeaten runs on the line with the Seagulls having not lost in seven and Palace undefeated in eight at home. I hope I've sold it to you!
2:37pm
It's derby day - but it's about something more today than just a relatively local rivalry.

Gus I don't buy we could not afford Murray, and he scores from the spot too, we've wasted all our player budget on keeping Vicente and Harley, and why oh why are you not trying CMS and Hoskins together, remember apparently we budgeted for 14000 crowds and we have been getting 12000 more we must have a striker and that is now going to cost far more than paying Murray what he wanted.

Apparently it could of been more than the 3 goals. Just not good enough!! Thought the players were up for this?

john newman wrote:Dunk as you point out is a liability in big games, but the ref was atrocious .
Dont pick Dunk, ( REMEMBER LIVERPOOL GAME HE CANT COPE ,always have a balanced bench, keep good strikers worth weight in premier league gold, no need to go on really. Poor team selection that IS the managers fault.

Ohnotagain ! wrote:There`s a reason for that,a very poor, very biased ref. Think about it,it was nothing to do with our lads. Possibly Bridcutts Y was because of frustration. After all someone kicked you up in the air all afternoon, you might snap.
Just look at the 4 yellows and 1 red, we have had more bookings in this match than in the previous half dozen or so. Just sums it up really, we cannot deal with the big games im afraid.

Its been obvious we are lacking in defensive backup for most of season (did not replace Elphick or Hall and relied on Painter who struggled last year). The striker situation has been talked about over and over again. BHA are just a bit short of being a top six team despite having top 1 support.
