Bruno out of Millwall clash

Bruno will be missing from the Albion defence again Bruno will be missing from the Albion defence again

Albion will still be without Bruno for Millwall's visit tomorrow night.

The Spaniard could, however, be back in contention for Saturday's trip to Blackburn Rovers.

Bruno missed the 0-0 home draw against Nottingham Forest at the weekend with a sore Achilles.

Manager Gus Poyet said: "Bruno is going to be a tough one, because when it's tendonitis in your Achilles it's very difficult to know when you can start training normally.

"We've got a plan and it will take a few days to make sure the surrounding muscles are strong. Until he does a certain amount of sessions he is not going to take a risk, so we will review it every two to three days.

"I am sure everybody wants to play in the game on Saturday, when you go to one of the biggest in the division, with the stadium and the pitch and with the players they've got.

"It's one of the games I suppose you look forward to as soon as the fixtures are out."

Inigo Calderon will continue to deputise for Bruno at right-back against Millwall after recovering from a knock on the knee in the first half against Forest.

Gary Dicker (knee) has yet to resume full training with the squad, so is likely to be sidelined again.

  * In tomorrow's Argus Gus Poyet on Chris Wood and contracts, plus Ashley Barnes on his relationship with the fans.

Pleased for Inigo as he hasn't put a foot wrong ever since he's been here. We're lucky to have two such highly competent fullbacks vying for the same position. Hope Bruno recovers soon but am more than content with Inigo standing in for him. Two great professionals.

I have a dream of Calde playing right back with Bruno in midfield playing the "Gareth Bale" role......... maybe one day

Couldn't agree more. Calde is the ultimate professional who has never and will never let us down.

Potentially, a very busy evening coming up for the defence, but no worries about Calde. He might even find time to show the forwards how to score...

In today's Argus there is a report saying that Calde is also not a definate starter tomorrow night against Millwall because of the knock he received in the first half against Forest. Poyet incidently praises him for continuing on the pitch saying he didn't know how he (Calde) did it - what a contrast to another of our Spanish contingent.
If neither Bruno or Calde are able to play who will fill in at right back Painter (is he fit again yet ?), El-Arb with Dunk at CB or one of the midfielders.
I'd be interested in what Farside Fratsomrover and CanfieldRob 's views on this quite possible situation are.

Personally, as a defender Calde is better than Bruno, makes less errors, however getting forward Bruno has the edge, no problems with Mr reliable starting every time.

Nothing to add on this subject all covered. Hope calde is fit or who else at right back.
