Hoskins booked in for surgery (From The Argus)

Can't post on story so i will put it here.If CKR is found guilty he should be kicked out of football.

Having advocated for so long for Hosko to get his chance, I was delighted that he started on Tuesday. Now he has to come back from another difficult injury, and I'm sure he will.
I think most fans can appreciate what he has to offer - I look forward to him back at the Amex next season as a Brighton player. Good luck, Will.

Hoskins is out of contract at the end of this season but, hopefully, he will get the chance to rehab with us in the summer. I still think he has plenty to offer, although I'm not sure he's going to win you promotion to the Premier League.

Deserves a contract for next season. Has shown promise in his limited appearances. Club need to do the right thing by him. Desperately unlucky.

feel very sorry for the lad , I know treatment better now but may never make the grade at a certain level. Such a shame hope you get back playing football soon Will.

Has looked quite decent during his rare appearances without ever really convincing. Hope he gets looked after by the club with a short term contract whilst he rehabilitates - sounds like he may struggle to be fit for the start of next season. Hope he finds a way back but this sort of injury often affects a career further down the road. Good luck Will.

When Elphick recovered from his long endured injury the promptly left the club, I would not be surprised to see Hoskins do the same.

As we know due to his unfortunate injury he will be out for the rest of the season, and I think his contract expires in June. I don't know how long this type of injury will take to fully heal but one would have to think that preseason training might be doubtful.

Does anyone have an idea as to how long the healing might take, educated guess anyone?

Most of you seem to think Gus is the best manager in the world and can do know wrong.So please tell me why did Gus not play Hoskins over the last few mths if fit.He was sub often because we have know other real strikers,but at best would only get 10 or 15 mins at the end of the game.Did he ever come on and score apart from that one goal against a very poor NUFC.If Gus thought he was the anser the guy would have been playing every week.Or are you all saying Gus was going out his way not to pick our best striker lol.

No he didn't, he cost about half a million, and he's been here LESS than two years. Assuming he is on under 10k/week that brings his total cost to a no more than a million. Your constant claims that a player should be got rid of just because some other clubs haven't come in for him is tiresome and pathetic.

A lot depends on how bad the the ruptures are. These surgeons in Germany are reckoned to be among the very best, so if anyone can get him playing again, it is them. I still play and it's always in the back of my mind that I could get that kind of injury... poor lad.

You have this unmovable idea that if others don't clamour for a player's services it must prove that he isn't any good. We bought TK, possibly the best shot stopper in our division, who did we have to out bid to get him?
We signed Bridcutt, do you recall Brighton having to fight off other suitors such as, Yeovil, Watford or Stockport, clubs that he played for before coming to us, I don't.

You often say that this player or that player was let go by his club because, 'they knew about him, they couldn't wait to get him off their books,' well TK and Bridcutt were let go so what does that say about them?

Freeloader there doesn't, 'have,' to be a bidding war to prove, or disprove, the value or talent of a player. Michu is the perfect example.
Some players are the subject of a bidding war and get bought for inflated prices and turn out not to be a success, Andy Carroll for example, Zaha might not make it at Man United, others have gone there for big money only to be sold a while later, Park could be seen as one of those.

Every time a player is bought no matter who is buying or what fee is paid, has a certain element of a gamble about it, Peter Ward went to Forest and it didn't happen for him there but look how good he was for us.

Full of injurys (not his fault I know) However, this is the same guy who wanted out last season becuse he was 'homesick' and basically slagged the club off when he thought his move to the blades was becoming permanent. He only came back because he was injured...again.

In regards to his performances?? well..in honesty not good at all..in fact boardaline rubbish. Yes, he scored against NUFC, but i would have tucked that away - most of us would have on this site. People get so carried away here is incredible just because he scored against NUFC. Someone above said he was playing well against Blackburn? come on... he hardly touched it!!

To your point, yes I agree that Hoskins has not really proved much over the last months, and as you say that might not be all his fault.
I have said this before, and Gus is confirming it, the training ground is where you earn your right to start matches. Gus tells us that Hoskins was now producing in training and that that is what got him his start, to me that kinda suggests that he hasn't produced in recent past months.

Is the lad good enough to stay, hard to say on the limited time he has had to show his worth. Training ground performances might say no, silky skills displayed in the cameo appearances he has had, might say one more year.
My gut feeling is that the lad will want to go if only to get regular playing time.

If he gets fit and has the chance to change clubs I would suggest that Swindon is where he should look to go, Paolo Di Canio is a good manager and he will get Swindon promoted this season, IMHO.

So Mr,Vegas you get my point about training.Or more to the point you can read into what Gus is saying.Now also try and understand what i mean when i say know other club is after a player.Take Chris Wood so many clubs were after the guy it gets into the press,but then the press also get to here from staff at clubs and the many scouts what they think about players.Lets face it Hoskins has had many clubs for such a young player.Now a player like Bridcutt only really had Chelsea.When he left them the word was he would do very well in div one or the championship.But i can't remember many good words about Anton Rodgers.See 9 times out of 10 these guys get it spot on about a player.How many young players that the Albion have let go in the last 5 years have gone on to bigger and better things ha?

Hosko is still worth a place in the squad, even as cover from the bench.

Only if we're in the Championship Scrote. There aren't many that have come back to their previous best after cruciate problems. It has a terrific mental effect also. Only the very best professionals manage it. GP springs to mind.
