FREE agent Matt Upson is expected to be a wanted man – thanks to his impressive displays for Albion.
The former England defender finally cut links with Stoke City yesterday after being released as part of a clearout by new boss Mark Hughes.
Upson is likely to have plenty of offers after his form in helping the Seagulls into the play-offs put him back in the spotlight.
Albion were eighth in the Championship after Upson’s ill-fated debut at Sheffield Wednesday and finished the season fourth.
Meanwhile suspended Seagulls boss Gus Poyet could be linked with Swansea City, despite a statement yesterday aimed at patching up their differences with boss Michael Laudrup over player recruitment policy.
Doubts persist over the prospect of a lasting peace at the Liberty Stadium.
Poyet has been high on the Swans’ wanted list when the manager’s post has become vacant in the past but they have been put off by the potential cost of releasing him from his contract.
