Albion fans have been urged to be patient as they wait to see whether David will be back at The Amex.
But The Argus has been told the Seagulls’ offer will be the first he considers when he starts to plan for next season.
The playmaker has a one-year deal with Albion on the table but has also been linked with Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest.
He has yet to start contract talks with his agent and is currently relaxing in the United States but will consider his future plans when he returns home to the Rioja region of Spain next week.
His representative Miguel Angel Cermeño told The Argus last night: “David is on holiday.
“I’m waiting to meet with him and to talk about it but that’s normal because this is a holiday period.
“People must have patience. We will talk about Brighton first, of course, because that is ethical and professional which is my way of working. He was very happy there last season.”
Forest boss Billy Davies has reportedly made a move for the former Athletic Bilbao star.
Cermeño refuses to identify which clubs other than Albion have made an offer but he confirmed there was interest from England and the Spanish top flight.
