Albion eased to a 3-0 win at Whitehawk in a pre-season friendly today.
Left-back Nicky Shorey played an hour as the Seagulls had their first run out under Oscar Garcia.
The head coach received a warm ovation from several hundred fans at the Enclosed Ground.
A crowd of 1,300 saw Albion score twice in the closing five minutes of the first half.
Solly March, the left-footed winger used on the right, cut in to curl inside the far post, possibly with the help of a slight deflection.
Then Shorey stood up a superb cross to the far post, where Ashley Barnes headed in.
Shorey apart, Albion changed their entire outfield line-up at the break and Andrea Orlandi added to the lead with a superb left-foot volley from the edge of the box.
Former Albion youth goalkeeper Richard Martin kept the score down with some good saves.
