Adam Chicksen has revealed he had no hesitation over signing a three-year deal for Albion.
The 21-year-old left-back starts working with his new colleagues in Spain today after agreeing to move south as a free agent.
Albion will pay an undisclosed sum of compensation to his previous club MK Dons, who developed Chicksen through their youth ranks.
The defender’s future has been up in the air since the end of last season.
He said: “There were others interested but as soon as I heard Brighton wanted to sign me, I didn’t have to think twice.
“I have been brought up at MK Dons, where the emphasis is always on playing good, attractive football, and I know the style of play is exactly the same here.”
The versatile Chicksen had a stint at right-back last season and cut inside on to his left foot to score from 20 yards at Carlisle.
