ALBION’S squad for Saturday’s Championship opener against Leeds United at Elland Road has been boosted by the return to action of Bruno.
The experienced Spanish right-back played the opening hour of Saturday night’s friendly defeat by Villarreal.
It was his first meaningful run-out of pre-season after nursing a calf injury. Bruno, 32, said: “It was my longest game in pre-season, 60 minutes, and I’m very happy because I’m feeling really good about my injury.
“But I need to play more because my fitness needs more games and more time.”
Bruno has the chance of more game time in tomorrow night’s closing friendly against Norwich at The Amex.
Kazenga LuaLua was not called upon against Villarreal after causing Crawley problems last week.
The explosive winger, among the 13 substitutes for the visit by the La Liga outfit, was one of four not used.
