Liam Bridcutt hopes he is in the frame for a Wembley appearance next week.
The Albion midfielder was watched by Scotland boss Gordon Strachan in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat at Leeds.
Bridcutt and team-mate Gordon Greer are both in the Scottish squad for a friendly against England.
The midfielder said: “It’s going to be a big game.
“International football now is a big part of my career and I look forward to it.”
He revealed Strachan keeps in touch with the player first called up last season.
The Albion star added: “He gives me a phone call now and again because I had an injury at the end of the season and he just wanted an update on how I was getting on."
Bridcutt admitted Albion can improve on their performance at Elland Road.
He said: “The performance wasn’t one of our best but it’s good to be back.”
