Nathan Jones wants Albion to get out of the woods at The Amex by avoiding another Forest fire.
The Seagulls have won only one of their last four home matches as they prepare for Watford's visit tomorrow night (7.45pm).
They were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest last time out at The Amex, conceding three goals in 17 minutes at the start of the second half after leading at half-time.
Assistant head coach Jones said: "We had a ten minute spell when we got heavily punished in a really even game. We can't let that happen again."
Albion have seven players sidelined for the Watford game, with winger Kazenga LuaLua the latest addition to the long-term casualty list after knee tendon surgery.
Jones said: "We can dwell about the things we haven't got but let's dwell on the positives. We've got a good side, a good squad, and we will put out an excellent eleven that will compete with Watford.
"The training has gone really well this week, so we'll be ready."
