Nathan Jones insists Albion are capable of dealing with their latest injury setbacks in the quest for a first win at The Amex since mid-September.
Bruno (concussion) and Will Buckley (hamstring) have been added to the Seagulls’ staggering casualty list for the visit of Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Right-back Bruno is expected to be available but winger Buckley is likely to be out after both players made a second-half exit from the win at Doncaster.
Assistant head coach Jones told The Argus: “We’ve had to ride the punches. We’re on the ropes, just jabbing away at the moment and trying to stay in the fight.
“We keep adding handicaps. It’s not a good scenario. Nothing is going smooth at the moment but we will be okay.
“We’ve got a fantastic squad. We will regroup again, see what we’ve got and then go and be ready for Blackburn. Then, God willing, with the international break, we could be looking in a healthier state.”
Buckley has joined Liam Bridcutt, Andrea Orlandi, Kemy Agustien, Leo Ulloa, Kazenga LuaLua, Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins on the sidelines, although Bridcutt is creeping ever-closer to a return.
Albion have gone three home games without a victory since beating Blackburn’s Lancashire neighbours Bolton Wanderers 3-1 on September 21.
