Wigan boss Owen Coyle has praised his side's work ethic as they resume their hectic season against Albion today.

The Latics, who are involved in the Europa League, kick off a series of 12 games in 40 days and, although the international break means most legs will be fresh, the thought of what it is to come could influence team selection.

Jean Beausejour is among those who could be rested after playing for Chile in Toronto in the early hours of Wednesday.

But star man Nick Powell is expected to start after being released early by England under-21s.

Coyle said: “What we’ve got to understand is there is not a team anywhere that has had to cope with the demands that have been thrust upon Wigan Athletic.

“That’s from a physical aspect but also from a mental aspect. We’ve had a period of games where we’ve been two or three behind the rest and we’re still one behind now.

“With all the things that have gone against us, they’ve been a credit to themselves, the fans have been unbelievable and when we bring that together as a group it’s formidable.

“That’s what we look to maintain going into this busy period but it’s also a very exciting period to go into with a domestic and Europa League challenge. It’s very exciting for everyone involved with the football club."

Powell will operate off the main striker - who will be Grant Holt or Marc-Antoine Fortune - in a 4-4-1 formation and is one to watch.
