Albion defender Aaron Hughes reckons he can help Northern Ireland cause an upset today.

Hughes is likely to figure as one of three centre-backs in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Hungary in Budapest.

He is one of the survivors of the squad’s most recent away win in a qualifier, in Slovenia four years ago.

Hughes said: “The preparation over the summer and a couple of games in South America were really good.

“We go into the competition with a lot of confidence and probably with as good a chance as we have had in for long time given we are fighting for the top three places, with third being a play-off.

“We’ve got a good opportunity and hopefully we do well.”

Hughes looks a certain starter at the back for the Irish alongside West Brom duo Chris Baird and Gareth McAuley.
