Former skipper Danny Cullip turned his hand to coaching – and enjoyed a few laughs along the way - as Albion staged the first major community event at their new training round.

Albion In The Community hosted 15 other clubs for the Mental Wellbeing Tournament, as part of World Mental Health Day.

Cullip and ex-Charlton goalkeeper Bob Bolder were on hand to offer support.

Teams were made-up of players involved in community schemes at football clubs across the south.

Cullip, who helped coach the Albion side, said: “The minute they walk across the white line on to the football pitch their focus is purely on enjoying the game.

“Everything else goes away and they just concentrate on that, which is a fantastic thing to do.”

The event was organised by Albion In The Community’s wellbeing coach Paul Brackley, who runs sessions designed to help people cope with mental health issues.
