Joao Teixeira is facing a wait to make a winning impact at the Amex under Chris Hughton.
The Liverpool loanee was relegated to the bench for last Saturday’s victory at Charlton.
Jake Forster-Caskey took Teixeira’s place as an attacking midfielder after recovering from illness and is expected to keep the spot for Brentford’s visit today.
Teixeira, on loan from Anfield for the season, started Hughton’s first game at Brentford in the FA Cup a fortnight ago but was substituted midway through the second half.
The Portugal under-21 international hit the winning goal in the Seagulls’ last Saturday home victory against Bolton five months ago.
Teixeira, who had a loan stint with Brentford in League One last season, may not have to wait long for a chance to shine again at the Amex.
Hughton is likely to juggle the squad, with Ipswich Town visiting next Wednesday and Arsenal in the FA Cup four days later.
Albion, 19th, could inch further away from trouble with a fourth straight win in all competitions against Brentford.
Fulham and Reading, the teams immediately above them in the Championship table, clash at Craven Cottage.
