Albion are set to unleash new striker Tomer Hemed on Crawley Town as they continue their pre-season build-up.

Hemed and fellow summer recruit Gaetan Bong were both withheld from the 0-0 draw at Lewes on Saturday along with fellow front line stars such as Beram Kayal, Sam Baldock, Lewis Dunk, Bruno and David Stockdale.

Hughton instead gave senior outfield players 64 minutes before completing the game with youngsters outfield and Casper Ankergren in goal.

Albion are next in action away to Crawley on Wednesday evening.

The Albion boss said: “They all had two games of 45 minutes each before Saturday.

“The next stage is 60 or 65 minutes and then you are leading into full games.

“What I’ve got to try to do is get the right balance with the squad we have got.”

Goalkeeper Christian Walton is expected to go out on loan to League One new boys Bury although Albion are keeping tight-lipped about his destination until the deal is completed.
