Chris Hughton is convinced Albion deserved their latest win at the Amex.
But he admitted Bristol City gave them a major battle.
Bobby Zamora fired home on 82 minutes to secure a 2-1 verdict after David Stockdale had made two fine saves at the other end.
Albion came from behind thanks to Sam Baldock’s near-post strike.
The Seagulls boss said: “It’s nothing short of what we deserved.

“We needed David Stockdale to make a couple of really good save for us.
“But I think, on the balance of play, the areas we got into, the work their goalkeeper had to do, the opportunities, it’s absolutely a game we should have won.”
He added: “We managed to get back into the game which I thought was an excellent goal and we kept pushing.
“But, when you keep pushing, you can leave yourselves open a touch “These are too good a side for us to take chances.
“Although we didn’t deserve to lose, it could have gone either way in the end.”
