Albion will be boosted by the return of Sam Baldock for Fulham's visit to the Amex on Friday night.

But Bobby Zamora remains sidelined and will not be available for the clash against his old club.

Baldock was ruled out of the attack for the away wins at Birmingham and Nottingham Forest by a recurrence of hamstring trouble sustained in the last home game against leaders Burnley.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "He trained today, so I'm expecting him to be available for Friday. That's the good and the bad. No for Bobby and yes for Sam."

Zamora, 35, has not started a game since mid-February and has not been in the squad for the last five matches.

Hughton said: "With Bobby it's ongoing. He's done great for us."

Baldock's return gives Hughton the option of operating with twin strikers again and resurrecting the former Bristol City forward's successful partnership with top scorer Tomer Hemed.

He played Steve Sidwell off Hemed at Birmingham and then Jamie Murphy at Forest in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Hughton was fearful of losing Hemed or James Wilson, who started on the bench in both games, to injury as well.

He said of Baldock's return: "It's a really good option for us. Over the last couple of games it's been difficult when you have got two strikers.

"You are always mindful, if you end up having Sam and Bobby out for a period of time, that you really can't afford to get one of those two, James or Tomer, injured."
