Albion boss Chris Hughton will face two Champions League winning managers in the Championship next season.

Roberto Di Matteo has been confirmed as the new manager of relegated Aston Villa, with former Chelsea team-mate Steve Clarke as his assistant.

Di Matteo won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012. Newcastle chief Rafa Benitez steered Liverpool to the biggest prize in European football in 2004-05.

Two more Championship vacancies have been filled today by ex-Premier League managers.

Leeds have appointed former Swansea supremo Garry Monk as head coach.

Monk, 37, sacked by Swansea at the end of last year, has signed a one-year rolling contract. He replaces former Crawley boss Steve Evans, whose departure from Elland Road was confirmed on Tuesday.

Monk becomes Leeds' seventh head coach in just over two years under Italian owner Massimo Cellino.

Meanwhile, Blackburn have appointed Owen Coyle as their new manager on a two-year deal. The former Burnley and Bolton boss, who left MLS side Houston Dynamo by mutual consent last month, will work alongside Alan Irvine and Rob Kelly.
