Albion's goal-getting connection are setting the pace in the Championship.

The Gaetan Bong to Anthony Knockaert link has provided more goals than any other such combination in the division so far this season, according to stats-based website whoscored.com.

Knockaert is now joint fourth in the goalscoring list, as is Glenn Murray, with five. And Bong, the Cameroon and France under-21 international who, like Knockaert graduated through the French leagues, is joint fourth in the division for assists with three.

All three of those assists have set up Knockaert, making it the most profitable link-up of its kind in the Championship.

Bong got forward to tee up Knockaert to fire home in front of the Spion Kop at Hillsborough on Saturday.

He previously crossed for Knockaert at home to Nottingham Forest and gave the pass from which the winger shot home against Rotherham.

Tammy Abraham's equaliser for Bristol City as they beat Forest on Saturday took him to eight goals this term, one clear of Dwight Gayle (Newcastle) and Scott Hogan (Brentford).

Murray and Knockaert are among eight players on the five-goal mark.

Barnsley duo Marley Watkins and Conor Hourihane have four assists apiece, as does Lewis Macleod of Brentford.

Several assist-to-scorer combinations have managed two goals, including a couple Albion kept quiet on Saturday - Barry Bannan to Steven Fletcher and Ross Wallace to Kieran Lee.
