Albion are set to loan out Rohan Ince and Elvis Manu in the January transfer window.

But boss Chris Hughton will tread carefully letting players go, due to a change in the loans system.

Midfielder Ince was borrowed last season by today’s visitors Fulham and Dutch striker Manu made a temporary move to Huddersfield.

Hughton told The Argus: “We were close to doing something with Rohan in the summer and he hasn’t figured much. Elvis is the striker who has played less than the others.

“We’ll have to make an assessment nearer the time. At the moment we have two injuries (Beram Kayal and Liam Rosenior) and no doubt at some stage we’ll have a period when there are more.

“There isn’t anybody at this moment I can say categorically will go out on loan but I do expect interest and I do expect some to go.”

Winger Kazenga LuaLua and midfielder Richie Towell could also struggle for first team game time after injuries but Hughton is wary about the abolition this season of the emergency loans system, which allowed clubs to lose players for limited periods with the right of recall after a month.

Hughton said: “The big difference now is, where as somebody might have gone for a short period of time, anybody now is going to go out until the end of the season.

“That’s where big decisions will have to be made and I’d rather have more and cover ourselves than put ourselves in a position where we have less.”
