Albion winger Joe Ward has had his loan at Lincoln City extended until mid-April.

The 21-year-old originally signed a deal at Sincil Bank for a month but has made a big impression on boss Danny Cowley.

He scored twice in a 3-1 victory over Welling United in the FA Trophy and is in the running for National League action with the leaders.

Cowley is keen to have a competitive squad as possible for the busy coming weeks and, asked this week whether he could keep Ward for longer, replied: “We will have that conversation with Brighton and see where it takes us.”

Ward could face namesake and former Albion man Stephen Ward when Lincoln go to Burnley in the FA Cup next week.

Meanwhile, Albion under-18 striker David Ajiboye has joined Ryman Premier League side Worthing on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old has made a number of impressive performances for Ian Buckman’s squad and also found the net for the under-23s in their 3-0 win over Hailsham Town in the Parafix Sussex Senior Cup.
