Davy Propper will rejoin Albion’s league campaign on the back of a 90-minute outing for his country.

The midfielder played the full game as the Netherlands beat Portugal 3-0 in a friendly in Geneva this evening.

Propper patrolled central midfield in serene fashion, swapping simple passes with colleagues and shielding his central defenders when Portugal had the ball.

He played a pass in the move which led to the opening goal, scored by Memphis Depay.

The Argus:

Ryan Babbel and Virgil van Dijk, the latter right on half-time, completed the scoring by the break.

Dutch keeper Jasper Cillesen made a couple of stunning saves in the second half to keep out a Portuguese side for whom right-back Joao Cancelo was sent off.

Propper now joins Albion’s build-up to their Premier League game at home to Leicester City on Saturday.

Meanwhile Australia will rest Albion goalkeeper Mathew Ryan when they face Colombia in a friendly at Craven Cottage tomorrow.

Colombia coach Jose Pekermen said tonight he will make changes to the side which beat France 3-2 on Friday.

Albion winger Jose Izquierdo is hoping for more game time having come off the bench in Paris.
