ALBION have been consoled by their exit from the FA Cup by a record £1 million plus windfall.

The quarter-final defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford last month generated a sum well in excess of seven figures, the largest amount for a single game in the Seagulls’ history.

More than 5,000 Albion fans in a crowd of over 74,000 saw them knocked out by goals by Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. United visit the Amex for Albion’s final home game of the season on May 5.

Meanwhile, Albion will have more than 1,000 extra fans for Saturday’s key home game against Huddersfield. The tickets have been returned by the Yorkshiremen and put on sale to Seagulls fans. Huddersfield will have around 1,400 fans, one of the smallest away followings of the season at the Amex.
