Albion have renewed their interest in versatile Frenchman Romain Vincelot from Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Seagulls are hoping to land the highly-rated 25-year-old in a £100,000 deal.
Vincelot had a trial with Albion in December 2009 before signing for Dagenham.
He impressed manager Gus Poyet, who told The Argus at the time: "He did well and is on our list."
Poyet has kept tabs on the former FC Gueugnon utililty player.
Dagenham chief John Still signed Vincelot as a right-back but he starred for them in central midfield last season, finishing top scorer with 12 goals as they were relegated from League One.
League Two Bradford City have reportedly made a £100,000 plus player bid for Vincelot, who has also attracted interest from some of Albion's Championship rivals.
